On a January morning in 2019, the city of Atlanta was marked by its first homicides of the year. Thirty-year-old Frederick Parker and his childhood friend, Quinton Porter, who was 35, were discovered inside a maroon SUV, both having been fatally shot. The vehicle was located near the intersection of Lee and Whitehall streets in the southwest part of the city.
