In the early morning hours of August 26, 2018, the body of 41-year-old Dedrell J. Knox, a male resident of Atlanta, Georgia, was discovered in a grassy area in front of an apartment complex on DeKalb Avenue. Responding to a call about a person shot, Atlanta police officers found Knox at approximately 3:45 a.m. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
