Jeffrey Lee Raymond, a 34-year-old Black male from Statesboro, Georgia, was killed on March 9, 2018, after a shooting at the Baymont Inn and Suites on South Main Street. According to local reporting, police were called to the hotel at about 6 a.m. after reports that a man had been shot on the fourth floor.
