In the early morning hours of a November Sunday in 2017, what initially appeared to be a single-car accident in Valdosta, Georgia, quickly turned into a double homicide investigation. First responders were dispatched to the 600 block of York Street around 1:11 a.m. on November 12th, where a silver 2004 Buick Lesabre had struck two electrical poles. Inside the vehicle, they discovered the bodies of 26-year-old Clarence Brandon Burnett Jr., an African American male, and 19-year-old Geneva Norwood.
