In the summer of 2017, the life of 18-year-old JaCarlos Jeffries, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Atlanta, Georgia. On the evening of July 13, just eight days before his nineteenth birthday, Jeffries was standing outside a food mart in the 300 block of Fletcher Street in southwest Atlanta when he was shot multiple times. The young father was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
