On a summer evening in Ellijay, Georgia, the life of 53-year-old Richard Thomas Danley came to a violent end. On July 8, 2017, Danley was at the home of a man named Douglas Edwin Pritchett when a 911 call was placed by Pritchett himself, claiming his home was being invaded and that he had shot the intruder. When Gilmer County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the River Lodge Drive residence, they found Danley deceased from what were later determined to be multiple gunshot wounds.
