In the winter of 2017, the life of a young Atlanta man was tragically cut short. Twenty-year-old Sammy Watson was found deceased on the evening of Saturday, February 4th, in a large, open field behind the former Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School on Hosea L. Williams Drive. He had been fatally shot. Family members who gathered at the scene were devastated, having been with him shortly before the incident occurred. He did not live far from where his body was discovered.
