In the early morning hours of September 10, 2016, the life of 23-year-old Eugene Brown Jr. was cut short in Augusta, Georgia. An African American male, Brown was discovered lifeless in the roadway on the 1900 block of Second Avenue. The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene at 4:05 a.m., the cause of death being at least one gunshot wound. At the time of his death, Brown was a father to three boys with another child on the way and resided on the 2300 block of Franklin Street.
