Clifford Hogan, a 38-year-old African American man, was killed before dawn on September 27, 2014, inside a home on Park Colony Drive in unincorporated Norcross, Georgia, in what Gwinnett County police described as a home invasion robbery that turned into a homicide. Officers were called to the residence at about 4:31 a.m. and found him lying face down and unresponsive beside the bed. He had been shot once in the lower abdomen and was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he later died.
