An African American man, 47-year-old Bobby Ray 'HiWay' Stewart, lost his life in a shooting on the night of August 23, 2014, in Columbus, Georgia. The incident occurred at The Supper Club on Buena Vista Road, where Stewart was a patron. Known in the local community as a rapper who advocated for peace through his music, his sudden and violent death sent ripples of shock and grief through those who knew him and his work.
