In the early morning hours of a Thursday in May 2014, the discovery of a man's body lying near a shopping center on South Hairston Road in Decatur, Georgia, prompted several 911 calls. Responding DeKalb County police officers found 49-year-old John Griffin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
