On a March evening in 2014, the life of 24-year-old Barry Trevon Williams was tragically cut short in a sudden burst of violence on a Savannah street. Williams, a male resident of the city, was walking with his friend, 25-year-old Dominique Ellison, in the 2000 block of Mississippi Avenue when an assailant emerged and opened fire on them. Williams suffered a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ellison was struck by the gunfire but managed to survive his injuries.
