On a Saturday afternoon in March 2014, 50-year-old Vincent Newsome was at the InTown Suites on U.S. 78 near Snellville, where he lived. He had been in the parking lot washing his vehicle before heading upstairs. On his way back down, as he walked along the second-floor breezeway, he was confronted by a man and shot multiple times. Emergency services transported Newsome to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
