In the early morning hours of October 23, 2011, a sense of duty led to a tragic end for a veteran law enforcement officer. Deputy James 'JD' Paugh, a 47-year-old male who had served with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office for 17 years, was on his way home after his shift.
