A dedicated officer's end of watch came tragically and violently in the line of duty. Joseph Emmanuel Davis, a 35-year-old male, served with the Atlanta Police Department for seven years and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. His life was cut short on June 7, 1989, while in the determined pursuit of a robbery suspect.
