In the early morning hours of October 14, 1987, in Glynn County, Georgia, a 47-year-old male convenience store clerk named Don Anderson was shot and killed during a robbery at his place of work. The assailant, Jimmy Fletcher Meders, entered the store with two other men and proceeded to rob it. During the commission of the crime, Meders shot Anderson once in the chest and then again in the head after he had already fallen to the floor. The total amount stolen was less than $40.
