In the summer of 2015, the life of 21-year-old Alexandria Mecole Dowe, an African-American female, was tragically cut short. On July 1st, a relative made a grim discovery in a home located in the College Hills community of Birmingham, Alabama. Inside the residence on the 1200 block of Fifth Avenue West, Dowe and a man identified as 41-year-old Christopher Charles Cooley were found deceased. Both had been fatally shot.
