Kavonte Smith, a 17-year-old African American male from Bronzeville, Chicago, was tragically shot and killed on October 30, 2019. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. Around 2:50 a.m., police officers found Kavonte lying unresponsive in the street in the 4400 block of West Chicago Avenue.
