In the late morning of December 3, 2022, the body of 38-year-old Duquares Smith, a Black male, was discovered in the 2300 block of Sherwood Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Authorities from the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the scene around 11:13 a.m. and found that Smith had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
