On a summer evening in Shreveport, Louisiana, the life of 15-year-old Ja'Tyon Tyrone Dillard, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On June 6, 2022, Dillard was killed in a shootout at the intersection of Jewella Avenue and West 70th Street. Another teenager was also seriously injured in the incident.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office identified Dillard, who was a student at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy. Friends and family remembered him as a caring and funny young man.
