On the evening of Friday, April 29, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 1700 block of Boulevard de Province in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, leading to the tragic death of 23-year-old Jaylon Carlin. A Black male and a native resident of Baton Rouge, Carlin was discovered at the scene with fatal gunshot wounds. The incident, which occurred around 7:50 p.m., also claimed the life of 38-year-old Ryan Priest and left a third male victim with critical injuries.
