On the evening of April 6, 2022, Shaquille Michael Cooper, a 29-year-old African American man, was in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans. At approximately 8:36 p.m., in the 1800 block of Music Street, the sound of gunfire shattered the night. Cooper was struck by multiple bullets, sustaining fatal injuries.
