In the late hours of an autumn evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of Jamal Dunn, a 25-year-old African American man from nearby Donaldsonville, was tragically cut short. On October 16, 2021, police responded to a call and discovered Dunn's body in a parking lot located at 4530 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd. He had sustained apparent gunshot wounds, and the subsequent investigation confirmed that he had been fatally shot.
