Shayne Joseph Burke, a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the afternoon of Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Lafayette, Louisiana. The incident took place around 2:00 p.m. in the 900 block of Peach Street, just feet from his mother's home.
