In the warm evening of July 3, 2021, the life of 42-year-old Dan Cooksey, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Shreveport, Louisiana. The initial call to Shreveport Police came in just after 9 p.m., reporting a shooting in the 2800 block of Garden Street, an area nestled in the city's Allendale neighborhood.
