In the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, on October 26, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm, leaving a trail of sorrow. When the chaos subsided, 25-year-old Jahmal Derrick Dawson, a native and resident of the city, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Another individual was also wounded in the incident, marking it as a double shooting. Emergency services responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, Dawson’s injuries proved fatal.
