A sense of unease settled over Plaquemine, Louisiana, on the evening of Saturday, October 24, 2020. Dedrick J. Carter, a 35-year-old male resident of the city, was involved in a shooting incident on Eli Craig Road, near the Mississippi River. The violent encounter left Carter with multiple gunshot wounds.
