On a summer afternoon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragedy struck on Fairfields Avenue. On June 22, 2020, at approximately 3:15 p.m., 29-year-old Gary Fielding was shot and killed. According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office, Fielding sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. During the incident, a 21-year-old woman was also shot, but her injuries were not life-threatening, and she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
