An 18-year-old African American student from Southern University, Kyrianna “Kyri” Harris, was fatally shot on the night of Saturday, May 16, 2020, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. A native of St. James, Harris was in the Donaldsonville Village area when gunfire erupted, leaving her deceased at the scene.
