In the early hours of a Saturday morning in March 2019, the life of 23-year-old Kemothy Starks Jr., a Black male from Bernice, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. The incident that led to his death unfolded just before 2:00 a.m. at the Rolex Lounge, a nightclub located off Highway 167 in Bernice. A shooting at the establishment resulted in Starks being fatally wounded.
