In the early hours of New Year's Day 2016, a promising young man's life was tragically cut short in the vibrant streets of New Orleans. Joshua Woodruff, a 28-year-old tourist, was visiting the city to celebrate with old college friends. At approximately 3 a.m., while waiting for an Uber in the French Quarter, a vehicle struck him and inexplicably continued to drive for six miles with his body trapped underneath.
