In the early morning hours of May 31, 2018, the life of Brent Jamison Batiste, a 25-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A dedicated science teacher at Scotlandville Middle Magnet School, Batiste was discovered inside his vehicle in the 2000 block of North 19th Street at approximately 6:45 a.m. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and the motive behind the fatal shooting remains unknown to investigators.
