In the early morning hours of March 15, 2018, the life of 32-year-old Jermain Aaron, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in Opelousas, Louisiana. The fatal incident unfolded at the intersection of Statesman and Adams streets. Aaron was one of two men shot during the violent encounter and succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. The second victim, Patrick Aaron, sustained a gunshot wound to the hip but survived and was later released from the hospital.
