In the early morning hours of September 25, 2017, the life of 21-year-old Raheem Alexander was tragically cut short on Marais Street in New Orleans. Responding to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at approximately 3 a.m., Fifth District officers discovered Alexander lying in the road, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
