In the early morning hours of December 28, 2016, the life of 22-year-old Darius Latin was tragically cut short in Hammond, Louisiana. The young man was found inside a residence on Whitmar Drive, having succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds. The community was shaken by the violence of the act, particularly as it was reported that Latin was killed while lying beside children.
