In the late morning hours of August 8, 2016, the community of Marrero, Louisiana, was struck by a violent tragedy. Ridge Fonseca, a 24-year-old white male, was discovered lifeless on the side of the road in the 4900 block of Leo Kerner Lafitte Parkway. Authorities from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire and found Fonseca suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a young daughter.
