In the Carrollton neighborhood of New Orleans, on the evening of January 17, 2016, the life of 17-year-old Tyron Hasty was tragically cut short. At approximately 9:12 p.m., in the 1600 block of Joliet Street, the young African American male was shot multiple times. The Orleans Coroner's Office confirmed that the gunshot wounds were the cause of his death. The New Orleans Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation into the violent incident that had taken a teenager's life.
