In the late hours of a Wednesday night in April 2014, the sense of peace in a Metairie apartment complex was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents of the Fox Run Apartments on Richland Avenue reported hearing several gunshots ring out in a courtyard. The sharp cracks were followed by a chilling moan that prompted a call to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
