In the late hours of a Friday evening in west Shreveport, tragedy struck, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On November 29, 2013, 41-year-old Marcus Wright, a male resident of Shreveport, was found lying in the front yard of a home in the 3800 block of Huston Street, suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The call to Shreveport Police Patrol officers came in just before 10:30 p.m., reporting a man had been shot at that location.
