In the early hours of a summer morning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the life of Shelva 'Tut' Glasper, a 33-year-old African American woman, was tragically cut short. On Sunday, June 28, 2009, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Glasper was found shot to death on Seneca Street, a victim of gun violence.
