Desmond Lamont Redd, a 27-year-old African American male, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in front of a business in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on October 14, 2017. He was discovered shortly after 7:15 a.m. and was immediately taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries on October 16, 2017. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and investigators have not yet determined what led to the shooting.
