On March 2, 2022, 21-year-old Melquan D. Scott, a Black male, was found dead in a residence on the 1900 block of Jermain Drive in Columbus, Ohio. Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:18 a.m. and discovered Scott suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite efforts by the Columbus Fire Department and EMS to save him, Scott was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:26 p.m.
