On August 8, 2020, Ellen Lakey, a 64-year-old white female, was tragically killed in her apartment on Parsons Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. She was struck by a stray bullet during a shootout outside her building. The incident occurred early in the morning, around 4:46 AM, when multiple gunshots were reported in the area. Ms. Lakey was in her apartment brewing her morning coffee when the bullet ricocheted off the ceiling and struck her in the back.
