Amir Jamiel Kirby, an 18-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically died on December 28, 2015, in Columbus, Ohio. He was fatally shot while attempting to break into a home on Rodgers Avenue, north of West Broad Street. According to police reports, Kirby was shot by the homeowner who claimed he was defending himself during the attempted robbery.
