On a summer night in Pittsburgh's Hazelwood neighborhood, the life of 18-year-old Darrian Davis was tragically cut short. The young Black man from West Homestead was sitting in a parked car on Johnston Avenue on July 1, 2022, when gunfire erupted. A bullet struck Davis, leading to his death approximately 40 minutes later. Two other people in the car with him were also wounded in the attack; one suffered injuries to the chest and neck, while the other sustained a graze wound to the hand.
