Barrett, identified in Philadelphia Police records as Rashan Barrett, was a 38-year-old Black male from Philadelphia whose life ended on Friday night, December 10, 2021, after gunfire erupted on the 1300 block of West Girard Avenue. Police records place the shooting in the city's 22nd District and state that officers responded at about 9:50 p.m., finding Barrett lying in the street after he had been struck by gunfire.
The response moved quickly from the street to the hospital.
