On August 31, 2021, Marvin Mayfield, a 34-year-old Black man from Chester, Pennsylvania, was tragically shot and killed inside a black Hyundai Sonata. Police officers responded to reports of shots fired around 9:35 p.m. at the intersection of 3rd and Engle Streets. Upon arrival, they discovered Mayfield unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Despite immediate medical attention from paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
