In the early morning hours of July 8, 2021, the life of 26-year-old Kalief Baxter was tragically cut short on the streets of Philadelphia. Responding to a call at approximately 12:33 a.m., police officers discovered Baxter lying unresponsive in the 2200 block of Fernon Street in the Point Breeze neighborhood. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
