On May 13, 2021, Quamir Mitchell, a 16-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, PA, was tragically shot and killed in Southwest Philadelphia. Quamir was found lying in front of a residence on the 5600 block of Grays Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he succumbed to his injuries that evening. A second victim, a 13-year-old Black male, was also shot but survived with a gunshot wound to his arm.
