In the early morning hours of July 10, 2016, the quiet of Turtle Creek was broken by a grim discovery. A passing motorist on McMasters Street spotted a figure lying in the road and quickly dialed 911. When police and paramedics arrived shortly before 2:30 a.m., they found 22-year-old Cheyenne Allen, a Black male from nearby Wilkinsburg, deceased at the scene. He had been shot multiple times in his head and neck.
